Genetic Disorders
Students will use appropriate terminology related to genetics such as hemophilia and trisomy. They will also describe some genetic disorders that are caused by chromosomal abnormalities (e.g.,non-disjunction) or other genetic mutations. Inheritance and Punnett Squares
Students will understand what a genetic cross is and why we use them. They will also solve basic problems in genetics that involve monohybrid crosses, using the Punnett square method as well as trace inheritance through generations using pedigrees.
